Training on NREGS/SSP

Training on NREGS/SSP payments will be given on 30.11.2014 from 9 am to 5 pm as per the following schedule. All the BPMs and Delivery office SPMS must attend the training.Operation of POTD machines will be explained and POTD machines will be given on the spot.

Workshop on DBT

These are the photos of the workshop conducted in DO, Anantapur on 21.11.2014 on Direct Benefit Transfer.  Presentation is given by AP Online Staff and also by PO staff.

Launch of Direct Benefit Transfer

Payment of NREGS and Social Security Pensions(SSP) will shortly commence in both Anantapur and Hindupur Divisions.  POTD (Point of Transaction Device) machines will be supplied to all BPMs by this month end. Payments have to commence in the month of Dec'14. A work shop was conducted on 21.11.14 at DO, Anantapur on Direct Benefit Transfer.  Ms. K. Sandhya Rani, PMG(BD), CO, Hyderabad attended the meeting.  This project is going to start in Anantapur, Kurnool and Krishna districts.This is a very good project and every transaction paid through POTD machine can be seen online on the website in the reports column-

Relaunch of Kisan Vikas Patra

Kisan Vikas Patra is re-launched w.e.f. 18.11.2014 with same features available earlier except with the following changes:

1.Amount Invested doubles in 100 months ( 8years 4 months)

2.Available in denominations of Rs 1,000, 5000, 10,000 and Rs 50,000.

3.KVP can be purchased from any Departmental Post office. This facility will also be extended shortly to the designated branches of commercial Banks.

Selection to the BPM Posts

The following candidates are selected to the BPM posts held at Anantapur on 12.11.2014

1. Sri. J. Nagaraju, who secured 470 marks is selected for the post of BPM, Govindawada BO a/w Uravakonda SO.
2. K. Santhi Swaroop who secured 448 marks is selected for the post of BPM, Kallur BO a/w Yellanur SO.

Voluntary retirement in the PA cadre

Vide SPOs Memo No.B3/PF/ASR dated 12.11.2014, voluntary retirement of Sri. A. Sudhakar Rao, SPM, Shettur SO is accepted w.e.f. 01.01.2015 F/N.

Volunteers are called for to work as IP in the following posts vide SPOs Memo No. B2/IPO/VIII dated 13.11.2014.  PAs who have completed 5 years of service are eligible to apply.  Last date to apply to DO is 21.11.2014

Amazon plans it big with India Post network to ramp up its delivery mechanism

E-commerce giant Amazon  wants to do in India what Alibaba did in China. Amazon's India head Amit Agarwal  on Tuesday met telecom and IT  minister Ravi  Shankar Prasad and urged him to allow the use of new technologies such as  real-time tracking and monitoring devices on the India Post network to develop a  delivery mechanism based on smart logistics.

The government has sought a detailed proposal from Amazon, to which it will  respond, a person familiar with the details of the meeting told ET. Amazon wants  to leverage an improved India Post network to ramp up its delivery mechanism to  within 24 hours anywhere within the country.

Agarwal was accompanied for the meeting by Monique Meche, Amazon's vice president  for international public policy. In an emailed response to ET's query, Amazon  said that it is "looking for ways to deepen" its relationship with the Indian  postal service which started last year. It currently uses the Indian postal  services as a delivery channel, but it is looking to deepen this further, in  line with what Alibaba did in China
