Increase in Service Tax Rate from 12% to 14% with effect from 1st June, 2015

In the Union Budget, 2015, an increase in the rate of Service Tax from 12% to 14% had been proposed from a date to be notified. The Finance Bill, 2015 has since been enacted and the Central Government has notified 1st June, 2015 as the date from which the rate of 14% would become applicable.

Speed post faster, more reliable than private couriers: CAG

Speed post was introduced in 1986 to provide a faster and time-bound mail delivery service in major cities. A Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) study has found private couriers deliver only 90% of letters compared to 99% by speed post. In the test check, the auditor had posted 284 letters by speed post and 287 by different private couriers. The performance was judged based on the number of letters sent, letters actually delivered, and time taken for delivery of test letters.

Vide SPOs, Anantapur Division Memo No.B1/R-38/Tfrs dated 07.05.2015 the posting of Sri. S.Sivaiah, PA, Nandyal Divison who was posted as SPM, Kundurpi SO is now modified as PA, Kalyandurg LSG SO.

Venue for the Accountant Exam 2015

Accountant Exam 2015 will be conducted at "Railway English Medium High School, Guntakal" on 17.05.2015.  Hall permits have been dispatched to all the eligible candidates.

Post AD Migration Issues And Solution

At the time of AD Migration we have to change the SQL Server Name. So that we have to configure server name in all the DOP Softwares and SQL Server.

Issues 1

·         RPC error while Submit Point of Sale account.

·         MSDTC Services not running

Solution

·         Go to Services (Control Panel > Administrative Tools >Services) / Run > Services.msc

·         Start the service 'Distributed Transaction Coordinator' (MSDTC) with start up type as 'Automatic' and Log On As 'Network Service' 

Execute RPC Query at Once

Solution 1 : 

Run these two queries in SQL query analyzer one by one

sp_configure 'show advanced options',1
go
reconfigure

Then Execute

sp_configure 'Ad Hoc Distributed Queries',1
go
reconfigure

Solution 2

Right click on server name in SQL management studio->facets-> surface area configuration.

Set true to Ad hoc remote queries.
