Department has launched issue of Post-Terminals (POTD Devices) to BPMs on pilot basis on 28.12.2015 in the states of U.P, Rajasthan and Bihar as part of implementation of RICT ( Rural Information & Communication Technology).
Key highlights of RICT
1. Branch Post Masters to be given a hand held device
for day-to-day operations
2. Through the hand held device, BPM will be able to
do transactions for Core Banking, Insurance and Mail Operations
3. Scanning of documents and barcodes through a
scanner
4. Regional language support on the handheld device
5. Provision of solar panels for battery charging at
all Branch office
